1. I'd like to have my wedding at Holy Trinity. What do I need to know?
A person desiring to be married in this parish must be (for at least one year prior to the wedding) a member who is a communicant in good standing, the child of a member who is a communicant in good standing, or transferring in as a communicant in good standing from another parish. It is possible for persons who are not communicants in good standing to be married at Holy Trinity when express permission is granted by the Rector. 2. Can we have our child baptized at Holy Trinity?
Holy Baptism for adults, children or infants may be scheduled at the 9 a.m. or 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning service at any time during the year, except during Lent. 3. How do I get to Holy Trinity?
Holy Trinity is located at 607 North Greene Street and occupies the block between Smith Street and Fisher Avenue. Smith Street is one-way running east, and Fisher Avenue is one-way running west.
From I-40 Eastbound: Exit on Wendover Avenue East. Proceed east on Wendover to Battleground Avenue. Exit Battleground Avenue south. Proceed on Battleground Avenue until it merges with Smith Street. Proceed on Smith Street to Greene Street. Turn left on Greene Street. The church will be on your left. Parking is available on your right in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home lot.
From I-85 Southbound/I-40 Westbound: Exit on Lee Street, traveling west. Proceed on Lee Street to Murrow Boulevard. Turn right on Murrow Boulevard. Murrow becomes Fisher Avenue. Proceed on Fisher to Greene Street. Turn left onto Greene Street. The church will be on your right. Parking is available on your left in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home lot.
From Route 29 Southbound: Exit onto south Summit Avenue. Proceed on Summit Avenue to Fisher Avenue. Turn right onto Fisher Avenue, traveling west. Turn left on Greene Street. The church will be on your right. Parking is available on your left in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home lot.
From Route 220 Northbound (Freeman Mill Road): Route 220 North (Freeman Mill Road) turns into Edgeworth Street. Proceed on Edgeworth Street to Smith Street. Turn right onto Smith Street. Turn left onto Greene Street. The church will be on your left. Parking is available on your right in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home lot.
From Route 220 Southbound: Route 220 South turns into Battleground Avenue. Proceed on Battleground Avenue until it merges with Smith Street. Proceed on Smith Street to Greene Street. Turn left on Greene Street. The church will be on your left. Parking is available on your right in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home lot.
From I-85 Northbound/Route 29 Northbound: Exit onto Route 220 North (Freeman Mill Road). Route 220 North (Freeman Mill Road) turns into Edgeworth Street. Proceed on Edgeworth Street to Smith Street. Turn right onto Smith Street. Turn left onto Greene Street. The church will be on your left. Please park in the parking lot on your right.
4. How do I become a member?
We are always delighted to welcome new members into our parish! As you get acquainted, we hope you will consider joining Holy Trinity. Such a commitment is a joyful decision, but before you make it, take some time to reflect on the meaning of membership. Christianity may be a personal faith, but it is not a private one. We are meant to be individual parts of one body, the body of the Christ, and our relationships with one another – in worship, giving, friendship and service – are a witness to our faith.
If you are a baptized member of another church, becoming a member of Holy Trinity is as simple as requesting that a letter of transfer be sent to us from your former place of worship. If you have not been baptized, or if you are interested in the deeper commitment of confirmation, please contact a member of the clergy, who can apprise you of the best course for your particular situation.
5. How do I plan a funeral at Holy Trinity?
If you are planning a funeral for a loved one who has already passed away, or whose passing is imminent, please contact a member of the clergy as soon as possible. 6. Which denomination is Holy Trinity?
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is a member of the Diocese of North Carolina in the Episcopal Church in America, part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Those worshiping at Holy Trinity come from a broad range of denominations and faith experiences. All are welcome.
7. Am I welcome at the Eucharist?
All baptized Christians, regardless of denomination, are welcome to receive Eucharist, or holy communion. Those not baptized or who choose not to receive communion are invited to come to the altar rail to receive a blessing. To learn more about the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, please click here.
8. When are worship services?
Sunday morning worship services are offered at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. We also offer a contemporary Wednesday night service at 5:30 p.m. and a Thursday morning service at 7:30 a.m. For more detailed information about our worship services, please click here.
9. What programs does Holy Trinity offer for children and teens?
Children and youth at Holy Trinity are encouraged to participate in all facets of parish life. Our age-appropriate classes and programs incorporate the use of both traditional curricula and contemplative practices designed to foster in our young people a more intimate, personal sense of God. In addition, we offer periodic events that educate parents about ways to encourage spirituality at home as well as offer the chance for families to fellowship together.
