Winter Youth Dinner: All parents and youth (grades 5–12) are welcome at the kickoff dinner for the second semester of youth programs! A special presentation will be made during dinner regarding the calendar for the semester as well as handing out the Glory Ridge 2010 application. Please sign up in advance by contacting Anne-Barton. Sunday, January 24 at 5 p.m. in the Haywood Duke Room.
Souper Bowl Fundraiser: Each January, the youth groups sell vegetable soup, chili, and con queso dip with chips to raise money for Glory Ridge. Orders are available for pick-up after services on Super Bowl Sunday, just in time for the big game. Look for order forms in early January. Orders available for pick-up on Sunday, February 7 after all services.
EYC Lock-In: Join us for fun, games and surprises – all night long! Watch movies, hang out with your friends – you never know what might be in store. Jr. and Sr. EYC will spend the night; Tweens will have a late night. Friday, February 12 from 8 p.m.–8 a.m.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, Mardi Gras Carnival, and Burying of the Alleluias: Hosted by Holy Trinity’s youth, this dinner is a fundraiser for the Glory Ridge mission trip. Pancakes, sausage, and applesauce will be served in the Haywood Duke Room for $7 per person with a $25 family cap. Beginning at 6 p.m., the Mardi Gras carnival will kick off in the Youth Ministry Center, including a procession outside to bury our “alleluias” for the season of Lent at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 16 from 5–7 p.m. in the Haywood Duke Room and Youth Ministry Center.
Tweens Play Day: Save the date – Sunday, April 18! Tweens will head off campus for an expanded afternoon of fun and fellowship. Sunday, April 18; more details to follow.
Spring Retreats for Jr. and Sr. EYC: The youth groups will have a retreat this spring, April 23–25. This is a weekend of community building and fellowship with friends and adult leaders. More information about the spring retreat will be available soon. April 23–25, 2010.
Family Game Night: Back by popular demand, this event combines one of the kitchen ministry’s fabulous family meals with fun and games for all ages. A vast array of board games, a possible Bingo showdown, and maybe some prizes await! Dinner is $7 per person with a family cap of $25. Wednesday, March 17 from 5–7 p.m. in the Haywood Duke Room.
Celebration of Family Ministries: In this festive service, children and youth lead the congregation in worship and music. Seniors will present the sermon at all three services. There will be no Children’s Chapel that day. Sunday, May 9 at the 9 a.m. service.
Honoring of Graduating Seniors: We encourage all graduating seniors to attend this special service along with their families. The Price Scholarship will be awarded at this service. Sunday, May 16 at the 9 a.m. service.
Volunteer Appreciation: So many volunteers make it possible for Christian formation to take place each Sunday and Wednesday. Join us in thanking them for their commitment to the young members of our parish family. Sunday, May 16, 2010.
Sr. EYC Vision Quest: Senior high youth are invited for Vision Quest, an opportunity to spend significant time alone, as well as time in community, discerning God’s dream for our lives. We’ll head to Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia for this event. May 21–23, 2010.
S. O. Fun Week–An Alternative Spring Break: A week of outreach projects and fellowship for 5th and 6th-graders. March 29–April 1, 2010.
Vacation Bible School: A week of Bible stories, songs, crafts and more for children ages 4 through 4th-graders. Note that this year’s VBS is scheduled for earlier in the summer than previous years. June 14–18, 2010.
7th–9th Grade Outreach Trip: Current 7th–9th graders are invited to join a special outreach trip to the Koinonia Community near Americas, Georgia. June 23–27, 2010.
Glory Ridge Mission Trip: Our annual mission trip to the mountains of Madison County, NC for rising 10th, 11th and 12th-graders and college freshmen. July 25–31, 2010.
