Education for Ministry (EfM)
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the training to carry out that ministry. Education for Ministry (EfM) is a 4-year program produced by the School of Theology of the University of the South at Sewanee. Participants study the Old Testament, the New Testament, Church history, and theological thought. Each year has a text book assigned along with a guide to identify areas of interest in the material. Years 1 & 2 also read selected chapters in their Bible. Each week, we jointly share the most interesting or most challenging points from our reading and discuss the issues raised. We then use a process called Theological Reflection to lead us deeper into the way the lesson resonates in our lives.
