The Holy Trinity Episcopal Church’s Beloved Community is pleased to announce a series of speaker presentations, “The Awakening of the Church” during the Sunday School hour January 16, 2022—March 13, 2022 with the exception of January 23, 2022.  The series, which will be held in the Haywood-Duke Room, will be about anti-racism—love your neighbor as yourself.

Linda Brown, who is a longtime member of Holy Trinity, will kick-off the series on January 16 as the featured speaker.  She is a published author and a retired professor of African American Literature.  Linda graduated from Bennett College in 1961, where as a student, she took part in the Greensboro Sit-Ins.

During the series, the Beloved Community will have featured speakers, who will address Community Life; Justice, Law & Order; the Arts; and, Education.  This will help our church members address the work needed within our parish to honor our baptismal vows to follow Jesus’s path by seeking and servicing Christ in ALL persons.

At the end of the series, the Beloved Community will offer a roundtable discussion on how our parish can bring together people across all human divides to address the sin of oppression and how we can begin at the grass roots level to transform ourselves and others to be inclusive, loving, just and peaceful for ALL citizens.
