Awakening the Intelligence of the Heart

Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Contemporary research including the work of The HeartMath Institute and others, shows how to transform emotional and mental energy into new, satisfying feelings and intelligent perceptions. These simple practices help to shift our often automatic responses etched into our neural circuitry to an awakening the intelligence of the heart to Divine Presence. These methods focus on positive feelings such as appreciation, care or compassion, which help to create a coherence in our heart rhythms that has been shown to bring the emotions, body and mind into balance.

Led by The Rev. Timothy Patterson. Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. in Broome Hall.

Youth Confirmation Meeting

Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Confirmation is a sacramental rite that connects us back to our baptism, when our parents and godparents promise to raise their child in the life of the church. At confirmation, the young person takes on that responsibility for him/herself as a young adult in the church. Confirmation at Holy Trinity traditionally is for high school youth. Preparation involves attending two Wednesday gatherings on February 29 and March 28 from 6:30–8 p.m. in the Youth Ministry Center, as well as a retreat March 2–4 at Haw River State Park (formerly The Summit). Confirmation will take place with the bishop’s visit on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Contact Virginia Herring for more information.
