Gateway Greeters offer an intentional ministry of hospitality at the initial stage of parish life involvement. The Greeters attend a training session on the ministry of hospitality, deliver bread and make follow-up contact with newcomers, send in a brief report on the contact to the staff liaison, and attend Newcomer Parties. Finding a new church can often be a trying ordeal unless someone seems to care. It takes only a little time and friendly kindness to make someone feel included.
New Member Ministry is comprised of parishioners who serve in a mentoring or shepherding relationship with new members. The Shepherds mentor a new member or family for up to six months by helping them become comfortable and integrated into the life of the parish.
Photographers are needed to document all of the many events and functions at Holy Trinity, from Bible School to the Christmas pageant, the Easter Vigil to the Epiphany Feast. Holy Trinity has a digital camera available for use, or you may cover the event with your own equipment.
Usher Ministry is a very important part of Holy Trinity’s ministry of hospitality. Ushers greet the congregation, extend a warm welcome to all attending (especially to newcomers and visitors), distribute bulletins, help with seating, and distribute hearing aids to those who request them. They also take up the offering, count the congregation, and assist parishioners in moving to the altar rail during communion. After the service, ushers collect bulletins, straighten prayers books and hymnals, and generally prepare the church for the next service. Usher Ministers generally serve one Sunday every other month, at a designated service.
