Giving at Holy Trinity

Giving at Holy Trinity

At Holy Trinity, we minister to each other in worship, fellowship, and pastoral care. We minister to the community through grants, financial assistance to the needy, housing for the homeless, help for refugees, and support for people with many other needs. We open our doors to everyone, and our buildings are filled daily with students, worshippers, musicians, and visitors. Holy Trinity relies on the support of parishioners and the community to carry out our ministries. There are many ways to give as a joyful response to God’s generosity.

Annual Giving Campaign

Tithing – giving 10 percent of household income – is the Biblical benchmark for giving.
Parishioners are encouraged to start wherever they are comfortable, understanding that
stewardship is a way of life and an opportunity to give back a portion of all God has given us.

The best way to financially support Holy Trinity is to make a pledge in the fall during the Annual Giving Campaign. Fall pledging allows Holy Trinity’s staff to accurately formulate an operating budget for the next calendar year. While fall pledging is encouraged, pledges are accepted at any time of the year. View our 2021 Annual Giving Campaign Stewardship Packet

Special Giving

Special giving means making a donation (in addition to pledging) in response to special requests or for memorials. There are numerous opportunities to support short-term outreach projects, special programs such as music or youth activities, or for flowers for special services, for example. These opportunities are communicated by mail and in church publications. Such gifts directly benefit the project.

Special giving supports a variety of ministries at Holy Trinity, but parishioners are encouraged to pledge as a spiritual discipline, and consider special giving as an out-of-the-ordinary gift.

Planned Giving

Planned giving means making a major gift during a donor’s lifetime or after the donor’s death. Such gifts are part of financial and or estate planning, and utilize legal, financial, and tax advice to enable donors to make larger gifts than they could from their regular income.

Planned gifts can include trusts, bequests, real estate, personal property, and life insurance, among other things. The Parish Administrator, can discuss options with you. Contact her through the Parish Office at 336-272-6149 or at .

Extraordinary Giving

Extraordinary giving involves the special occasions that arise in the life of Christian communities that call us to give beyond our ordinary habits. The best example is a capital campaign, which could support construction, maintenance, repairs, or endowment. Pledges or gifts to an extraordinary giving campaign are usually pledged then paid over several years. Holy Trinity’s last capital campaign was in 2017 with the Generation to Generation (G2G) initiative, which updated and upgraded our Parish House, unified our block, provided the maximum number of parking spaces our block accommodates, and added a new covered outdoor gathering space, the Patterson Terrace.
