Communications Coordinator

This position will have oversight and responsibility for the communications needs of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and will work with staff and lay leaders to effectively communicate the activities and opportunities at Holy Trinity in a way that helps integrate people into the life of the church.

Hours: 12 hours a week (flexible except for required meetings)

Compensation: $13,000

Status: regular, part-time.

Reports to: Rector

Location: Remote except for weekly staff meetings and occasional in-person meetings


Identity/Brand Management

  • Ensure that communications consistently reflect the parish's identity in appearance, tone, and message.
  • Uphold standardized and consistent style and messaging in all communications


  • Create content for bulletins, fliers, website, social media posts, electronic newsletter, occasional all-parish letters

Digital Communications and Social Media

  • Prepare the weekly e-newsletter
  • Manage and consistently update the church website
  • Design and implement effective messaging strategies for internal and external communications such as promotional materials for events
  • Maintain fresh images, working with lay volunteers to take new photos of parish events
  • Manage and consistently create social media messaging and communication strategies on outlets including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.


  • Collaborate with the liturgical coordinator to prepare weekly bulletins for Sunday worship
  • Produce flyers, brochures, postcards, and other printed materials as needed

 Qualifications and Required Skills

  • A degree in communications, media, journalism, or a related field or at least 2-4 years of experience in communications
  • Excellent written and editing skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects; ability to set and maintain boundaries and expectations around timelines and workloads
  • Ability to relate well to all kinds of people; communicate effectively interpersonally and corporately
  • Organized, creative thinker
  • Proficiency in MailChimp, Constant Contact, or similar email provider
  • Proficiency in social media, especially Facebook and Instagram
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and graphic design software
  • Ability to learn new skills as needed
