May 31-June 2:  Lemons for Lunch

Back by popular demand- Lemons for Lunch, a camp on service learning.  Young children love to help.  Lemons for Lunch will focus on kindness and helping others in the world community by raising awareness and funds for The Lunch Project, a non-profit that helps to support lunch programs in Tanzania, East Africa.  Campers will host a lemonade stand on campus with all proceeds going to the Lunch Project.  In addition, campers will be introduced to Tanzanian culture and a few Swahili words. Throughout the week, campers will be active participants in making our world a better place through their own “helping hands.”

June 5-9:  Yoga Zoo Adventure

This week’s camp will tap into young children’s love of movement and animals as we introduce the practice of yoga in a fun, easy, and creative way. Libby Ramsey, yoga instructor and owner of Dancing Dogs Yoga Greensboro, and her team will work with campers each day with breath and physical yoga poses to teach the kids ways to strengthen and stretch their growing bodies and also begin to understand the power of presence, breath, relaxation, creativity, and fun!  We will stimulate the imagination; work on strength, balance, and flexibility; and develop mindfulness and connection for our young campers.

June 12-16:  Stars and Stripes Forever

Hip, hip hooray for the USA!  Campers this week will have a grand time celebrating our beautiful flag and slices of Americana through songs, games, picnics and even a parade.  Gifted guitarist and music instructor Riley Walker will work with our campers as we give tribute to “our grand old flag.”

July 24-28:  Sizzling Summer Science

Preschoolers’ love of investigation, questioning, and getting messy make them natural scientists.  Your young scientist will explore several topics such as buoyancy, chemical reactions, and force through fun activities that are geared toward his/her curious, active mind.  It is sure to be a week full of scientific discovery.

July 31-August 4:  Let’s Go Camping

This camp will foster an appreciation of nature.  Campers will experience camping fun and the great outdoors through camping activities and adventures, including taking a nature walk, identifying sounds of nature, singing campfire songs, fishing, and playing in tents.  Students will also learn about sun safety and skin protection.
