Employment
Barnabas Jobs is devoted to preparing men and women to enter the workforce and connect with marketplace jobs. Barnabas Jobs trains unemployed in job procurement and retention skills and connects them to entry-level positions. Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities, including networking with local businesses as Job Developers, resume writing, and light office work.
Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit retail store selling a variety of crafts and textiles from around the world. Ten Thousand Villages operates with a mostly volunteer staff, enabling the company to return the profits from the sold merchandise to the artisans which make the crafts, helping them to make a living wage and provide education and a home for their families. Holy Trinity was instrumental in getting a local store established in Greensboro and provides volunteers to work in the store. Hours are variable, with people needed for all shifts. Holy Trinity also hosts a yearly sale of Ten Thousand Villages merchandise, which benefits the local store.
Wheels to Work Car Ministry partners Holy Trinity with Goodwill Industries to give vehicles to people determined to be in need. Residents of Holy Trinity’s Transitional Housing Ministry get first priority. Holy Trinity welcomes the donation of dependable and usable cars. Anyone wishing to donate a car should contact Jean Jolly in the parish office. A Wheels to Work Committee member will then contact you to set up an appointment with the Goodwill Wheels to Work Coordinator. Cars that are deemed by Goodwill as unsuitable to give away will be sold and the proceeds used to defray insurance and other costs.
