Health
Higher Ground serves as a day center, retreat, and learning center for persons infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Holy Trinity provides financial support, serves a monthly lunch, and assists with workshops, gardening, transportation, and office work.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro provides care and support for terminally ill patients and their families. A wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available, from clerical assistance to puppet show participants to work with children or adults. Training workshops are offered quarterly.

Knit One, Pray Too makes prayer shawls, preemie caps and other items for people who are in crisis or who have lost a loved one. A collaborative ministry of Holy Trinity and Healing Ground, Knit One, Pray Too meets the first Monday of each month from 2–4 p.m. in Smyth Library. Materials are provided, and all levels of knitters are welcome.

Senior Wheels, a city-wide organization, provides vollunteer transportation for older people needing to get to and from the doctor's office. Volunteers are needed to give one to three hours to help with this transportation on the fourth Monday of each month.

Winter Walk for AIDS takes place the first weekend in December. Holy Trinity supports the walk, which benefits Triad Health Project, by providing a water station for walkers on the day of the walk, and by encouraging persons to walk and recruit sponsors.

For more information about these and other service opportunities, contact Amelia Poole, Outreach Coordinator, at 272-6149 ext. 269 or ameliapoole@aol.com.
