Observing Lent

Observing Lent

The Book of Common Prayer invites us to the “observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.” The season of Lent is March 6–April 20. Holy Week is April 14–April 21. For a schedule of Holy Week worship services, see page three of the Christian Formation Brochure.

Lenten Meditation & Study

Lenten Music Series: Holy Trinity will offer a Lenten Music Series on Wednesdays from 12:15–12:45 p.m. in the church from March 13–April 17. These Lenten musical meditations are designed to enrich your personal experience during Lent, providing a time for you to leave the busyness of your day and hear some beautiful music. The free programs will feature musicians of Holy Trinity and include music of J. S. Bach, Rachmaninoff,  Franck, Mozart, Beethoven and Debussy. Wednesdays, March 13–April 17, 12:15–12:45 p.m., Church

Holy Week Labyrinth Walks: During this solemn week, experience the labyrinth’s sacred pattern and path. As you symbolically make the walk with Christ to Jerusalem, use the labyrinth as a tool for prayer. A Holy Week reflection facilitated by one of the labyrinth keepers will precede each walk. Attend any or all of these walks. Bring a journal if desired. Weather permitting. Monday–Thursday, April 15–18, 12:15–1 p.m. and Good Friday, April 19, 11–11:45 a.m.
