Giving

Thank you for considering a contribution to Holy Trinity. Everything we do at Holy Trinity is dependent on the resources given by parishioners and every gift is deeply appreciated.

There are several giving opportunities throughout the church year:

Annual Giving: Pledging is a spiritual discipline, recognizing that all things come from God. Holy Trinity’s Annual Giving Campaign provides 95 percent of the operating budget of our church. It occurs each fall and the money pledged sets the budget for the following year. The goal for the campaign to fund the 2024 budget is $1.8 million. Learn more here.

Special Giving: Special giving is making a donation (in addition to pledging) in response to special requests or for memorials. There are numerous opportunities to support short-term outreach projects, special programs such as music or youth activities, or for flowers for special services, for example. These opportunities are communicated by mail and in church publications. Such gifts directly benefit the project.

Extraordinary Giving: Extraordinary giving involves the special occasions that arise in the life of Christian communities that call us to give beyond our ordinary habits. The best example is a capital campaign, which could support construction, maintenance, repairs, or endowment. Pledges or gifts to an extraordinary giving campaign are usually pledged and then paid over several years. Holy Trinity’s most recent capital campaign, the Second Century Campaign in summer 2022, raised $3.4 million to fund water remediation in the Sanctuary, invest in a maintenance endowment, and refresh the Sanctuary. 

Planned Giving: Planned giving means making a major gift during a donor’s lifetime or after the donor’s death. Such gifts are part of financial and or estate planning, and utilize legal, financial, and tax advice to enable donors to make larger gifts than they could from their regular income. Such gifts can include trusts, bequests, real estate, personal property, and life insurance, among other things. Unless otherwise designated, major gifts are held in the Holy Trinity Foundation where they are invested in order to provide for the church in perpetuity.
