Advent Covenant Groups: Holy Trinity marks the beginning of the new church year by gathering in covenant groups of 8-12 people to prepare for new experiences of the Christ coming into our own lives, into the Holy Trinity community, and into the world. A selected Advent book guides the group’s reflections. Groups begin forming in November and meet once a week. Look for registration information in the weekly ePistle newsletter.
Compline and Healing Meditation is offered the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7 p.m. on Zoom. Dr. Bev Vaughn opens the evening with a short healing service incorporating various types of meditative practices such as mindfulness and Reiki followed by Spiritual Director Gale Robins leading Compline. Cursillo: Cursillo, in Spanish means “short course in Christian living.” This group meets Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in Worth Parlor and centers on the teachings of Christ. Easter Coffee & Lemonade and Egg Hunt: After the 9 a.m. Easter Day service, parishioners and guests are invited to the Patterson Terrace for fellowship and the start of the Easter Egg hunts. First
Sunday Name Tags: All worshipers on the first Sunday of each month are invited to wear a name tag to introduce themselves to the Holy Trinity community. This is a great way to get to know your pew neighbor, make new friends, and welcome everyone to Holy Trinity. Name tags are available as you enter worship services.
Foyer Groups (from the French word for hearth or home) are a fun way to get to know other parishioners in a social, supper club setting. Individuals and couples who register are randomly assigned to a group of 8 to 10 people who will meet about once a month, October through May, for a potluck meal, rotating among participant’s homes. Labyrinth Keepers are committed to fostering the experience of walking meditation on the Holy Trinity labyrinth. We are an ecumenical group and welcome new members. Lenten Covenant Groups: Covenant groups of 8-12 people meet weekly for one hour during the season of Lent to support and to encourage their personal and collective Lenten spiritual journeys. Using a selected book to guide conversation, covenant group members engage in prayer, self-examination, and thoughtful reflection. Groups begin organizing in January and will meet for five consecutive weeks beginning the week of Mar. 9. Look for sign-up information in the ePistle.
Men’s Fellowship offers scheduled events on the first Monday of the month, September - May, in the Haywood Duke Room. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with fellowship, followed by dinner and a speaker at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Look for sign-up information in the ePistle.
Mystery and Theology Book Club is for mystery lovers and meets on the second Monday of the month, September - May, at 4 p.m. in Worth Parlor to discuss mystery novels that include references to religion. The group is very informal; most books are available from the Greensboro Public Library. For more information, contact Libby Haile at 336-314-1022.
TWIGS (Those With Infinitely Greater Sense) is a community of older adults (though everyone is welcome) who get together for fellowship and learning. During the regular church year, they meet most Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. in Roe Library for Bible study and discussion of the lectionary readings for the following Sunday. After the study period, the group enjoys Wednesday Night Supper together in the Haywood Duke Room.
Wednesday Night Suppers are family-friendly fellowship events offered during the program year (September - May) for a reasonable fee with a family cap. There is a sign-up link in the ePistle newsletter or you can call the church at 336-272-6149 to reserve your spot.
